Description
Size: 3ft 2in x 2ft 6in (97 x 75cm).Old Afghan Baluch grain bag; these are known as ‘balisht’.
Circa 1920.
This example has a very interesting diamond lattice design with Turkmen design elements to the face with a decorative closing panel at the top. The bag has superb colour and excellent soft wool.
The back is a stripped plain weave design.
The bag is in excellent condition with very slight wear and good pile. These bags make excellent floor cushions if filled with a pillow.
The bag has been hand washed and is ready for use or display.
