Size: 4ft 4in x 3ft 0in (131 x 92cm).Antique Timuri Baluch blue ground prayer rug with traditional Afghan design.
Late 19th century.
A good blue ground Timuri Baluch prayer rug with traditional Afghan design to the field. This design is commonly found on rugs and main carpets attributed to the Timuri.
The rug is in good condition with slight even wear, and good pile. The rug retains it original kilim ends with weft work at the top end and a soumak panel at the lower end. The rug does contain some very early synthetic dye that helps date it to the late 19th century.
The rug is ready for use or display.
The rug is suitable for light domestic use.
