Description
Size: 1ft 9in x 1ft 7in (54 x 47cm).Old Afghan Baluch saddle bag with plain weave back. Western Afghanistan.
Circa 1920.
The saddle bag is of a boxed lotus leaf design.
The saddle bag is in good condition with very slight even wear and full pile. Note the original decorative closing panel at the top of the bag face; this has floated weft work decoration. The bag still has its original striped plain weave back and long tassels at the base.
The bag face has been hand washed and is ready for display. The bag could easily be filled and used as a cushion.
