Description

Size: 12ft 10in x 6ft 7in (392 x 200cm).
Very good example of a main carpet by the Chakhansur Baluch of South West Afghanistan, border region near the Seistan Desert. Typical design for this region with the classic long kilim ends. Excellent wool, tight weave and natural dyes.
Circa 1880.
The carpet is in good condition with even wear and corrosion, the pile is low / medium.
The carpet is suitable for light domestic use.
The rug has been hand washed and is ready for use or display.
A very good example of 19th century Baluch weaving.
