Description
Size: 7ft 7in x 3ft 7in (231 x 109cm).Antique Baluch rug from the Khorassan region of Eastern Persia.
4th quarter 19th century.
This is an outstanding rug with a very well drawn lattice design with the snowflake design. Note also the diagonal rows of white flowers. The field is dark indigo blue abrashed with a lighter blue at the top end. The rug is finely woven with superb wool. The ends are of particular interest, the chevron design is piled rather than flat woven, then there is a wide band of weft work decoration. The border is the classic Baluch boat design.
The rug is in excellent condition with slight wear and good pile.
A very good collectable Baluch rug.
The rug is suitable for normal domestic use.
The rug will be hand washed prior to delivery and is ready for use or display.
