Description

Size: 6ft 4in x 3ft 5in (193 x 104cm).
Antique Baluch rug from Western Afghanistan, probably Timuri tribe.
2nd half 19th century.
A superb Baluch rug with a large scale shrub design and a white ground boat border. The field is divided in to four compartments each containing a large shrub like design and also two guls of Turkmen form. The border is of a large scale. The field colour is a soft rose madder.
The rug is in good condition with some wear and medium pile. The rug has very good wool and also retains the original long kilims at both ends. There are a few spots of foundation showing along with an old repair and small dark stain, these can be seen in the images.
A very good collectable Baluch rug.
The rug is suitable for light domestic use.
The rug has been hand washed and is ready for use or display.
