Description
Size: 8ft 8in x 5ft 9in (265 x 175cm).Antique Shekarlu Qashqai rug of classic design, a rug of very fine weave.
Circa 1880.
This classic Shekarlu has a field full of tribal motifs, including shrubs, flowers, animals and birds, and the Shekarlu comb design.
The array of colours is outstanding including yellows, soft blues, reds and greens. The border is of typical Shekarlu design. The rug has a soft floppy handle and is of very fine weave.
The carpet is in excellent condition with even wear and medium/low pile. There are some scattered old re-piled areas throughout the field.
Hand washed and ready for use or display.
The rug is suitable for light domestic use.
