Description

Size: 6ft 7in x 3ft 6in (200 x 107cm).
A good North West Persian Kurdish village rug from the Greater Hamadan Region.
Circa 1900/20.
This rug is a good example of Persian village weaving, with a pleasing linked medallion design and a traditional design in the corners. The field of the rug is filled with a large shrub design. The rug is most likely from the village of Gharaghan, about 100km north east of the city of Hamadan.
The border design is typical for this village.
The rug is in excellent condition with very slight wear and good pile. The rug is suitable for normal domestic use. A very attractive furnishing rug.
The rug has been hand washed and is ready for use or display.
