Size: 5ft 5in x 4ft 0in (165 x 121cm).Antique Caucasian Kuba region rug of scarce herati design.
Late 19th century.
A superb example of a Caucasian Kuba rug, the detailed herati design and 'Heriz' style border is only found in a very small group of Kuba rugs. The is the finest weave that I have seen on a rug of this type, the drawing is very detailed and the colours are a superb range of natural dyes. The Heriz style border is really outstanding. note the large flowers in the corners of the border.
The rug is in excellent condition with slight even wear and full pile.
The rug has been hand washed and ready for use or display.
