Description
Size: 8ft 4inx 5ft 1in (255 x 156cm).Antique South West Persian Luri tribal rug of outstanding and unusual design.
Circa 1900.
This rug is an excellent example of Luri tribal weaving, with diagonal rows of a traditional Luri design. The dark indigo blue field is filled with rosette flower heads and other tribal designs including some small animals. The borders are classic Luri designs.
The rug has slight wear with good pile, the wool quality and colours are outstanding.
The rug has been hand washed and is ready for use or display. The rug is suitable for normal domestic use.
