Description
Size: 13ft 2in x 9ft 11in (402 x 302cm).Antique Persian Birjand carpet of large size, with outstanding soft colour.
Circa 1900.
A really outstanding example of a Birjand carpet from the Khorassan Province of Eastern Persia. The carpet has a large single medallion in soft powder blue, surrounded by a large scale floral design on a red ground. The use of ivory and soft blues throughout the carpet give it a very soft and light feel.
The carpet is an ideal furnishing carpet with a real country house look.
Good condition with even wear, medium pile.
Hand washed and ready for use or display. The carpet is suitable for normal domestic use.
