Description
Size: 11ft 0in x 7ft 10in (335 x 240cm).Antique Ersari Turkmen main carpet from Northern Afghanistan.
Circa 1890.
This fine carpet has three rows of nine large guls with an interesting secondary gul. The carpet has a traditional boxed star design to the main boarder. The carpet retains its original long kilim ends and the wide over bound side finishes which are bound in goats hair.
The carpet is in good condition with even wear and good pile, there are some scattered old repairs; mainly in the bottom right hand corner that have faded. The price reflects these.
The carpet is suitable for normal domestic use such as a dining room or a living room.
The carpet has been hand washed and is ready for use.
