Description
Size: 11ft 1in x 5ft 6in (337 x 168cm).Antique Turkish Fethiye kilim camel cover with excellent design and colour.
Circa 1870.
This kilim was woven by nomadic Hotamish Turkmen tribe in the Fethiye area of South Western Anatolia and are known as "Deve Ortusu" (camel cover). This fine example has outstanding colour and bold geometric design.
The kilim is in good condition with slight wear, there are small areas of damage through use to the sides and losses at end which can easily be repaired. There are also a few very small old repairs which could easily be improved.
The kilim is suitable for normal domestic use.
The kilim has been hand washed and is ready for use or display.
