Size: 5ft 5in x 2ft 10in (165 x 87cm).Antique Western Afghan Baluch / Timuri camel ground prayer rug with tree of life.
Circa 1900.
The rug is beautifully drawn with a tree of life and has good colour, the camel wool ground is very soft. The rug has a traditional Baluch design to the main border which is found in rugs from this region. There is a possibility that this rug could be the work of the Timuri tribes.
The rug is in fair condition with uneven wear and medium / low pile, there is heavy wear in places and a few scattered old repairs; this is reflected in the price of the rug.
The rug is suitable for light domestic use.
