Size: 4ft 0in x 3ft 3in (123 x 98cm).Antique Tekke Turkmen rug of traditional design, the rug is of a rich red/brown colour with cochineal highlights.
Circa 1900.
The rug has a traditional Tekke gul design with 3 rows of 7 guls. These are often referred to as 'dowry' rugs. The main border is of the 'star in octogen' design with sun burst.
The rug is in good condition with slightly uneven wear and medium / low pile, there are a few small old repairs. (All reflected in the price).
The rug is suitable for light domestic use.
