A good Persian Qum silk rug with a pleasing 'paradise' garden design.
About 50 years old.
The rug has a soft red coloured field, filled with a vase and floral sprays, with many small animals and birds as is traditional in the 'paradise' garden design. The main border is beautifully drawn with flowering shrubs, birds and animals.
The rug is in excellent condition with very slight wear and good pile. The rug has been hand washed recently.
Silk pile on a silk foundation, a rug of pleasing design with warm colours.
The rug is suitable for light domestic use.
Please note: Silk rugs are difficult to photograph due to the light reflecting off the very shiny surface, light areas are not fading, they are just light reflections. The close up images show the truest colours.
