Size: 3ft 3in x 2ft 0in (100 x 60cm). Excluding tassels.A good small size Turkish Kayseri silk rug of multi niche 'saf' prayer design.
About 50 years old.
The rug is woven in very soft pastel colours and is of the traditional multi niche 'saf' design. The colours include soft greens, pinks and blues; the border is of a repeat shrub and prayer niche design.
The rug is in excellent condition with very slight wear and good pile. The rug has been hand washed recently.
Silk pile on a silk foundation, of fine weave with a very soft handle.
The rug is suitable for light domestic use.
Please note: Silk rugs are difficult to photograph due to the light reflecting off the very shiny surface, light areas are not fading, they are just light reflections. The close up images show the truest colours.
