Size: 6ft 2in x 4ft 1in (189 x 124cm). Excluding tassels.A Chinese silk rug with a traditional floral vase design.
About 20 years old.
The rug is of a traditional design with a floral vase design, with small birds in the shrubs. The rug has a soft colour palette, it is of very fine weave with soft silk; the surface is very shiny. The rug is woven in the Turkish Hereke style.
The rug is in excellent condition with very slight wear and good pile. The rug has been hand washed recently.
Silk pile on a silk foundation, a rug of fine weave with a very soft floppy handle.
The rug is suitable for light domestic use, or would make a good wall hanging.
Please note: Silk rugs are difficult to photograph due to the light reflecting off the very shiny surface, light areas are not fading, they are just light reflections. The close up images show the truest colours.
