Description
Size: 6ft 11in x 4ft 6in (210 x 136cm). Excluding tassels.A very attractive Persian Qum silk rug with flowers and birds.
About 50 years old.
The rug has a small ivory ground central medallion with a floral design, this is surrounded by a field in very soft red containing flowers and birds. The outer field is in very dark (almost black) indigo blue, there are vases to the corners and floral sprays along with many birds. The soft pink border frames the rug well.
The rug is in excellent condition with very slight wear and good pile. The rug has been hand washed recently.
Silk pile on a silk foundation.
The rug is suitable for light domestic use.
Please note: Silk rugs are difficult to photograph due to the light reflecting off the very shiny surface, light areas are not fading, they are just light reflections. The close up images show the truest colours.
