Size: 3ft 10in x 2ft 7in (118 x 79cm). Excluding tassels.An attractive Turkish silk rug with a traditional prayer design.
About 40 years old.
The rug has a very soft pistachio green field, covered with a fine floral meandering vine. At the top of the field is a hanging lantern or oil burner, the borders in a crimson red frame the rug very well.
The rug is in excellent condition with very slight wear and good pile. The rug has been hand washed recently.
Silk pile on a silk foundation, of fine weave with a very soft handle.
The rug is suitable for light domestic use or it would make a superb wall hanging.
Please note: Silk rugs are difficult to photograph due to the light reflecting off the very shiny surface, light areas are not fading, they are just light reflections. The close up images show the truest colours.
