Size: 5ft 3in x 3ft 9in (160 x 114cm).Antique Caucasian Gendje Kazak rug with superb colour and a jewel like quality.
Circa 1890.
A truly outstanding small rug with classic linked diamond medallion design on a dark indigo blue ground. The field is filled with hundreds of small tribal motifs creating a 'night sky' effect. The rug is framed by an ivory ground border of typical Gendje design. Note the small birds hidden amongst all the other filler designs in the field.
This is a outstanding small rug with a hard to find 'jewel' like quality.
The rug is in excellent condition with slight even wear and good pile.
Hand washed and ready for use or display.
