Description
Size: 4ft 10in x 3ft 1in (148 x 93cm).A vintage Bijar rug of traditional palmette design.
About 40 years old.
Hand knotted using excellent wool dyed with excellent colours, this fine rug is woven in the same manner as a traditional antique Bijar. The traditional palmette design is on a warm rich red ground, the border is of a meandering vine design on a dark indigo ground.
The design is very classical and similar to 19th century Bijar rugs.
The rug is in excellent condition with no wear and full pile. The weave is very dense and firm.
The rug has been hand washed and ready for use or display.
The rug is suitable for heavy domestic floor use.
