Size: 6ft 3in x 3ft 10in (190 x 117cm).Antique Afghan prayer rug of traditional village mosque design by the Kizil Ayak Turkmen.
Circa 1910.
The rug is of typical mosque design showing a mosque at the top and the field depicting the inside of a mosque. This group of prayer rugs depict a mosque with 13 minarets, 11 at the top and one at each side of the lower end.
The rug is in excellent condition, with very slight even wear and good pile. The rug retains the original kilim at both ends.
The rug is suitable for light domestic use and is suitable for wall hanging.
