Size: 4ft 5in x 2ft 7in (135 x 78cm).Antique Afghan Baluch prayer rug by the Taimani nomads of central western Afghanistan.
Circa 1900.
This is a interesting example of a small Taimani prayer rug, the design to the burnt orange field is a repeat vase and flower design similar to that found on some Persian tribal and village rugs. The colour palette is a feature of this rug with the dark border contrasting well with the field.
The rug is in good condition with slight even wear, and good pile.
The rug is suitable for light domestic use and would make a superb wall hanging.
