Description
Size: 8ft 8in x 4ft 3 in (265 x 130cm)Antique Caucasian Kazak long rug with Memlinc guls within octagons on a green ground.
2nd half 19th century
A superb Kazak long rug with a single vertical row of four 'Memlinc guls' each within an octagon. The rug has a warm green ground with the large guls really standing out, each gul has a large star to the centre. The field has a number of small filler elements, to include birds and stars. The ivory ground border frames the rug well.
A rug with superb colour and typical Kazak weave.
Great condition, even wear with good pile to the borders and medium pile to the middle, there are a few very well blended old re-weaves.
Hand washed and ready for use or display.
The rug is suitable for normal domestic use.
