late 19th century.
A superb example of a Karabagh region rug drawn with very large boteh on a deep burgundy red field. Each of the large boteh is drawn with a small flowering plant inside of it. The border is of a traditional floral rosette design.
This is a very good example of type, an eye catching rug.
The rug is in excellent condition with even wear and medium pile.
The rug is suitable for normal domestic use.
The rug has been hand washed and is ready for use or display.
