Size: 9ft 6in x 7ft 7in (290 x 230cm).Antique Afghan Sulayman carpet with traditional design, a carpet of superb colour.
Circa 1890.
The carpet is of a clear red field colour with superb highlights in blues and blue greens. There are 3 rows of 6 guls of large size, the border design is a typical Afghan design. The carpet retains the original kilim end finishes at both ends, although these are fragmented in places.
The carpet is in fair condition with even wear, heavy in places with low pile. Despite the wear the carpet is very sound and has many years of use left in it.
The carpet is suitable for normal domestic use.
The carpet has been hand washed and is ready for use.
