Description
Size: 1ft 7in x 1ft 8in (49 x 50cm).Antique Tekke Turkmen saddle bag (Khorjin) banded mixed technique design.
Circa 1900/20.
This is half of a pair of saddle bags, the bags retain the original closing loops at the top and the ivory plain weave back. The weave is quite fine and is in bands of pile and flat weave. The design at the base in the lower panel is most pleasing with a rams horn.
Slight even wear with good pile. There is some old staining to the ivory plain weave back.
