Description
Size: 9ft 9in x 6ft 9in (296 x 205cm).Antique Tekke Turkmen main carpet with 4 rows of 11 guls.
Circa 1890.
The carpet has a warm red ground colour, the guls are large and round; the minor gul is very interesting and related to those found on Salor carpets. The border is of the Turkmen star and sunburst design.
The carpet is in fair condition with some uneven wear with medium to low pile.
Both ends retain the original large elem panel end finishes.
The carpet is suitable for light domestic use.
The carpet has been hand washed and is ready for use.
