Description
Size: 8ft 11in x 4ft 9in (271 x 146cm).Antique Baluch rug from Western Afghanistan. A Baluch rug with unusual colour with a superb snowflake lattice design.
Late 19th century.
A superb Baluch rug with a diamond lattice design with each diamond containing a snow flake design. Between each diamond there is a small white flower. The rug has a very soft colour palette with light pinks, blues and ivory... there are large amounts of rich aubergine colour. The border is of interest, it is a classic Timuri Baluch border..
The rug is in good condition with even wear and medium pile. The rug has very good wool and is finely woven. There is some corrosion to the browns.
The rug is suitable for light domestic use.
The rug has been hand washed and is ready for use or display.
