Size: 7ft 5in x 4ft 6in (227 x 137cm).Antique Caucasian Shirvan rug with unusual design.
Circa 1900.
This is a most unusual Shirvan rug, the field and border designs are both normally associated with carpets and rugs woven in the North of Persia. The field is a large scale version of the heratti design and the border is often seen on Heriz and Faraghan rugs and carpets. This is an exceptional rug, well drawn with superb colour.
The rug is in excellent condition with slight even wear and good pile.
The rug is suitable for normal domestic use.
The rug has been hand washed and is ready for use or display.
