Description
Size: 6ft 7in x 2ft 5in (200 x 74cm).A good example of a Persian Qum silk runner with fine weave and a pleasing floral design.
Circa 1950.
The runner has an indigo field decorated with detailed sprays of carnation flowers around a small central medallion, the crimson red border also has a carnation design. Note the beautifully drawn small birds in both the field and the border design.
The rug is in very good condition with slight wear and good pile. Both ends retain their original finishes. There is a very small area of wear in the left hand border exactly half way along it.
Silk pile on a silk foundation.
The rug is suitable for light domestic use and has been hand washed.
