Description
Size: 5ft 6in x 3ft 11in (168 x 119cm).Antique Caucasian Shirvan rug of unusual design with three linked medallions each containing a large eight point star.
Late 19th century.
The rug is on a madder red ground with the field filled with very large boteh. The rug has a powerful bold graphic design. The border design is a classic Caucasian Shirvan design and adds to the striking overall design of the rug.
The rug is of very fine weave and in overall good condition with all over even wear and medium to low pile, there are a few scattered old repairs.
The rug is suitable for light domestic use.
The rug has been hand washed and is ready for use.
