Size: 4ft 8in x 3ft 9in (142 x 114cm).Antique Caucasian Daghestan prayer rug with floral lattice on an ivory ground.
Circa 1880.
A superb example of this well known group of prayer rugs, this rug has excellent colour and is very well drawn. The flowers are beautifully drawn and stand out against the ivory ground, note the stars running down each side of the field.
The rug has even wear and medium/low pile.
Hand washed and ready for use or display, the rug would make a superb wall hanging.
