Description
Size: 6ft 9in x 4ft 8in (206 x 143cm).Antique North East Caucasian Kuba rug with 'gymyl' design, often known as the dragon motif.
Circa 1900.
The rug is a good example with bold design and a simple use of contrasting colour. The small ivory central medallion stands out against the darker colours, note the five stars in the medallion. The simple border design compliments the rug.
The rug is in good condition with even wear and medium pile, The rug has a firm handle caused by the depressed warp structure. There are one or two small well done old repairs that are very difficult to find.
The rug is suitable for normal domestic use.
The rug has been hand washed and is ready for use or display.
