Description
Size: 6ft 3in x 3ft 5in (190 x 103cm).Antique Timuri Baluch rug from Western Afghanistan with scarce design.
Circa 1900
This is an outstanding example of type, woven on fine cotton warps with very soft fine wool. Note the numerous small goats that can be found through out the rug.
Outstanding condition with vey slight even wear and full pile, the rug has been wall hung for many years, hence its outstanding condition.
Hand washed and ready for use or display.
The rug is very similar to Plate 20 in the now very rare book “Rugs of the Wandering Baluchi” by David Black and Clive Loveless.
