Description
Size: 7ft 3in x 4ft 7in (222 x 140cm).A traditional Bidjar rug of very firm dense weave, the rug has a traditional small medallion design with fine herati to the field on a clear madder red ground.
Circa 1920.
The ivory ground floral border is a very attractive feature of this rug and matches the small medallion. Due to the very firm dense weave rugs from Bijar are known as the Iron Carpets.
The rug is in excellent condition with very slight wear and full pile.
The rug has been hand washed and is ready for use.
The rug is suitable for heavy domestic use.
