Size: 6ft 1in x 4ft 0in (186 x 122cm).Antique Caucasian Daghestan rug with ChiChi design.
Circa 1890.
A superb rug that is probably from Daghestan in the North Eastern Caucasus. The main star border combined with the outer rosette border and the inner repeat diamond design is often found on Daghestan rugs. The dark indigo field with a repeat stylized shrubs and stars is usually associated with ChiChi rug from Kuba, but is also found on a small group of Daghestan rugs.
The rug is in excellent condition with even wear and medium pile. The rug is suitable for normal domestic use.
The rug has been hand washed and ready for use or display.
