Description
Size: 6ft 7in x 4ft 9in (200 x 145cm).Antique Tabriz rug of scarce Caucasian design.
Circa 1900.
This is an interesting rug, the design is influenced by designs usually associated with the Caucasian weaving areas, especially those associated with the village of Seichur. of particular note are the bird or dragon like animals with human figures near them. The use of the soft indigo blue gives the feeling of water running through the rug.
The rug is in good condition with even wear and medium / low pile. The rug is of fine weave and has a very firm dense handle.
The rug is suitable for normal domestic floor use.
The rug has been hand washed and is ready for use or display.
