Description
Size: 4ft 11in x 3ft 4in (150 x 102cm).A good example of a small size Persian Qum silk rug with fine weave and a pleasing floral medallion design.
Circa 1950.
The rug has an ivory field decorated with floral sprays around the central indigo blue medallion. The dark indigo border has a classic Persian design. The use of green in the rug is a very pleasing feature.
The rug is in excellent condition with slight wear and good pile. The rug has been hand washed recently.
Silk pile on a silk foundation.
The rug is suitable for light domestic use.
Please note: Silk rugs are difficult to photograph due to the light reflecting off the very shiny surface, light areas are not fading, they are just light reflections. The close up images show the truest colours.
