Size: 1ft 8in x 1ft 7in (50 x 48cm). Excluding tassels.A very small square Turkish Kayseri silk rug with a floral design on a deep indigo blue ground.
About 50 years old.
The rug has a beautifully drawn spray of flowers; probably carnations on a deep indigo blue ground. The border is of a repeat floral design.
The rug is in excellent condition with very slight wear and good pile. The rug has been hand washed recently.
Silk pile on a silk foundation.
The rug is suitable for light domestic use, or would make a good wall hanging or could be used on top of a table or chest.
Please note: Silk rugs are difficult to photograph due to the light reflecting off the very shiny surface, light areas are not fading, they are just light reflections. The close up images show the truest colours.
