Size: 9ft 7in x 6ft 0in (293 x 184cm).A vintage Bijar carpet of traditional garous design.
About 30 years old.
Hand knotted using excellent wool dyed with excellent colours, this fine carpet is woven in the same manner as a traditional antique Bijar. The traditional garous design is on an abrashed rich red ground, the colour change in the lower part of the carpet is quite deliberate, to replicate the changes of colour often found in antique carpets. The border is of a meandering vine design on a green ground.
The design is very classical and similar to 19th century Bijar carpets.
The carpet is in excellent condition with no wear and full pile. The weave is very dense and firm.
The carpet has been hand washed and ready for use or display.
The carpet is suitable for heavy domestic floor use.
