Size: 10ft 2in x 6ft 11in (310 x 210cm).Antique Kashan carpet with a ‘paradise garden’ design, containing a ‘tree of life’ with many birds and animals.
Circa 1900.
This is a truly outstanding example of this design, beautifully drawn on an apricot coloured ground. All the colours really sparkle.
The border is wonderful with each small cartouche containing a picture of a bird or an animal.
The carpet is in excellent condition with very slight even wear and full pile.
The wool is very soft, probably lambs (kurk) wool.
The carpet has been hand washed and ready for use or display.
The carpet is suitable for normal domestic floor use or would make a great wall hanging.
