Description
Size: 5ft 4in x 3ft 10in (163 x 116cm).Antique Turkish silk prayer rug with design elements that can be found in both Ottoman and Transylvanian prayer rugs.
Late 19th century.
The rug has a beautifully drawn ‘rams horn’ border; the open field design has pillars either side and a single hanging candelabra in the middle.
The rug is in fair condition with some wear, heavier in places and a repaired split about 4 cm long in the middle above the candelabra.
This is a collectable silk rug ideal for hanging.
The rug has been hand washed and is ready for display.
