Description
Size: 4ft 1in x 3ft 7in (125 x 109cm).Antique Tekke Turkmen rug of very fine weave and small square size.
Late 19th century.
These rugs are considered to be ‘dowry’ weavings used by the Turkmen bride on her wedding day.
This example has 3 rows of 6 Tekke guls, the borders and elems are very well drawn.
The rug has excellent colour with a very soft madder red field.
The rug is in fair condition with even wear and low pile, the side bindings have worn away, we would be happy to quote to replace them.
The rug will be hand washed prior to delivery and is ready for use or display.
