Description
Size: 7ft 6in x 3ft 11in (228 x 120cm).Antique Afghan Ersari Turkmen rug from the small Northern village of Aranji.
Circa 1900.
The rug has two rows of seven turreted guls on a burnt orange field dyed with madder mixed with walnut shells. The design is in ivory and indigo blue. note the rug retains the original stripped kilim at both ends that is typical for rugs from this village, along with the ivory undyed warps. The wool is of excellent quality and very soft.
The rug is in excellent condition with slight even wear and good pile.
The rug is suitable for normal domestic use.
The rug has been hand washed and is ready for use or display.
