Description
Size: 8ft 6in x 3ft 8in (260 x 113cm).Antique Caucasian long rug with most unusual repeat design.
Late 19th century
A very interesting rug that is probably from the Gendje region.
The repeat design is very unusual, it is possibly a tree form or a tree with birds heads. The whole rug is covered with small filler elements between the trees.
The rug is in good condition with even wear and medium pile, there is some corrosion and a number of old repairs and re-weaves especially at the ends.
The rug is suitable for light domestic use.
Hand washed and ready for use or display.
