Description
Size: 6ft 7in x 4ft 8in (196 x 136cm).Antique Persian Senneh rug of the 'Gul Farang' design.
Southern Persia, circa 1900.
The 'gul farang' design was inspired by French design of the late 19th century; as seen on Aubusson and Savonnerie. Gul Farang translates as foreign flower.
This is a particularly good example, well drawn with excellent colour.
Excellent condition with slight wear, good pile.
The rug has been hand washed and is ready for use or display.
