Description
Size: 6ft 0in x 3ft 5in (183 x 105cm).Antique South West Persian Qashqai tribal rug of the highest quality.
Circa 1880.
A very sweet small Qashqai rug of scarce size, the rug linked ivory ground medallions which are filled with large floral boteh, the mid indigo blue ground has boteh, floral rosettes and small animals all over it, the madder red outer field is also completely filled with tribal designs. Note how many of the boteh are up side down. The rug retains its checker boards at both ends along with the original long end finishes.
The rug has very soft wool and superb dye quality, the hand is soft and floppy like a cloth.
The rug has slight even wear and good pile. The rug is suitable for light domestic use.
Hand washed and ready for use or display.
