Size: 6ft 0in x 4ft 6in (182 x 137cm).Antique West Anatolian rug from the small village of Dazkiri which lies on the road from Denizli to Sparta.
Circa 1900.
The rug is of a design unique to this village, with the small central medallion surrounded by flower heads. This rug is most unusual in having a soft green field colour, this contrasts well with the clear red. The borders are of a complex floral design also on a green ground.
The rug has very soft wool and a very floppy handle. The rug is beautifully drawn with superb colours through out.
The rug is in excellent condition with slight even wear and medium pile.
The rug has been hand washed and is ready for use or display. The rug is suitable for light domestic use.
